South of France Recap
This recap highlights some of my favorite moments from the South of France, along with recommendations on what to do and where to eat—hopefully showing why this stretch of the Côte d’Azur should be high on your travel list. From sun-drenched beaches and fresh seafood to charming old towns and breathtaking views around every corner, it’s every bit as magical as it sounds.
Nice
Where to stay:
Hyatt Regency: Right on the Promenade des Anglais, this stylish Art Deco hotel offers spacious rooms and stunning Mediterranean views
What to do:
Promenade des Anglais: Stretching along the sparkling coastline of Nice, the Promenade des Anglais is perfect for a seaside stroll, bike ride, or sunset view.
Colline du Château: Offering some of the best panoramic views over Nice and the Mediterranean, Colline du Château is a must-visit lookout spot.
Cours Saleya Market: This daily market in the heart of the Old Town serves as a vibrant hub of fresh flowers, local produce, and artisanal goods. It’s the perfect place to soak up the local atmosphere, sample Provençal flavors, and find unique souvenirs.
Where to eat:
Fenoccio: A gelataria famous for its incredible variety of gelato flavors—from classic vanilla to unique local specialties like lavender and candied chestnut. Located in the vibrant Old Town, it’s the perfect spot to cool off and indulge in a sweet treat while exploring Nice.

What to do:
Start at the bottom of the small village and walk up the moutainside while exploring to small alleyways and the numerous art galleries on every corner.
Monaco
What to do:
Casino de Monte-Carlo: Step into old-world glamour at this iconic Monaco landmark. With its opulent interiors and cinematic history, even a quick visit feels like stepping onto a movie set. Just don’t forget your passport!
Prince’s Palace of Monaco: Perched above the city in Monaco-Ville, the Prince’s Palace blends royal history with stunning views of the Mediterranean. Home to the Grimaldi family since the 13th century, it’s still a working palace
Exotic Garden: Perched high above the city, the Exotic Garden offers sweeping views of Monaco and the Mediterranean, along with an impressive collection of cacti and succulents from around the world. It’s a serene spot perfect for a peaceful stroll. Be sure to look out for the beautiful statue of Grace Kelly, a tribute to Monaco’s beloved princess.
Saint Nicholas Cathedral: this Roman-Byzantine landmark is the final resting place of Monaco’s royal family—including Princess Grace Kelly. The serene interior and white stone façade make it a peaceful and meaningful stop while exploring Monaco-Ville.
Where to eat:
Cafe de Paris Monte Carlo: Unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures here but this is a beautiful restaurant located right next to the casino. Perfect for drinks or a quick bite after a long day of sight-seeing!
Villefranche
What to do:
This sea-side village is the perfect place to relax by the beach, grab gelato, and explore the colorful streets!

Saint-Paul-de-Vence
Where to stay:

What to do:
