London Recap
London is one place that I could visit over and over again! I had already checked off some of the classic tourist spots such as the tower of London, Buckingham palace, and the London Eye, so although those are obviously worth the visit they aren’t going to be featured here. Below is a recap of how I spent a weekend in Wimbledon with my cousins. If you’re looking for some fun things to do in London that aren’t your stereotypical tourist sites, keep reading below!
Things to do:
Kew Royal Botanical Gardens: With over 300 acres of beautifully curated gardens, towering glasshouses, and rare plant species from around the world, it’s the perfect spot for a peaceful stroll, a bit of botanical wonder, and gorgeous photo ops year-round.
Wimbledon Village: With a large variety of charming shops, cozy cafes, and, of course, tennis decor, Wimbledon Village is the perfect place for a walk and an escape from the city.
Matilda The Musical: A very fun-filled and kid friendly musical at the Cambridge Theater based on the Roald Dahl novel.
Chinatown: A hub of restaurants, bakeries, souvenir shops, and countless boba shops.
Where to eat:
Mayfair Chippy: The perfect place to try fish and chips!
Dishoom: This was my favorite food of the whole trip and every dish we ordered was fantastic! A self-proclaimed love-letter to Bombay, Dishoom has a variety of small plates and fusion dishes making it the perfect spot for breakfast, chai, or a big dinner feast. We ordered the keema pao, chilli chicken, chilli cheese toast, murgh malai, and house black daal.
Demitasse: As someone with a massive sweet tooth, nothing beats french toast in the morning, and this modern but cozy cafe has just that! The candied pear french toast is a must-try!
And then of course I had to include some pictures from the highlight of trip: Ishaan’s 6th Birthday Party!
